Today we spent the afternoon at The West Brewery. It's a brewery in Glasgow where you can have a meal and sip on the beer brewed in the same building. Russell swears by their beer so we headed out to Glasgow Green to sample their food too.
I was expecting it to be over priced and small portions as I thought the beer probably sells itself as it has such a good reputation.. how wrong was I?! It was amazing! I was so impressed and I highly recommened any foodies or beer fans to go and try it out for yourselves.
Russell started with their Dunkel beer which had a coffee tasting undertone, It was really nice, then he had the Munich Red beer which was lighter. For dinner I had the handcut chips with fish battered in West beer batter - yum!! Russell had the beef and ale steak pie and chips. The portions were huge and really great value. We got sides of onion rings and a big pretzel - mmm.
The building was so grand and they were playing classical music in the background. I felt like Marie Antoinette eating my dinner! It was a taste of what it must be like to be rich and eat out for your dinner every night. I can't imagine ever getting bored of that lifestyle but alas, it's not like it's real! Anyway, if you fancy dining like Marie and listening to some classical music whilst sipping tasty beer and munching on a delicious dinner then you know where to go, oh and it doesn't break the bank either - very much the opposite :)
